Delegation heading to Athens for European Airshow Council Convention talks on 2026 line-up
23.02.2026

During the four-day convention our delegation will conduct dozens of working meetings with organisers of international airshows, representatives of military and civil air arms, and managers of aerobatic and display teams. Our objective is to establish new partnerships and translate them into tangible outcomes for the Košice Region and for Slovakia as a well.

We will also present the concept for SIAF 2026, built on three pillars — professionalism, safety and international credibility. Meetings of this kind are where future flying programmes begin to take shape and where participation by display teams is often agreed several seasons in advance.

If we want to bring world-class international display teams back to Slovakia, we must be present where participation decisions are made. In the airshow community, cooperation is built primarily through personal meetings, trust and long-term relationships between organisers and partners across different countries. In Athens we want to demonstrate that SIAF is a stable and reliable partner with a clear vision, professional background and the ambition to develop the event over the long term,” said CEO SIAF Hubert Štoksa ahead of the delegation’s departure.

The Slovak International Air Fest ranks among the most significant public events in Slovakia, and the outcomes of the Athens meetings will be another important step towards shaping the SIAF 2026 flying programme.

The organising team has already sent invitations to partners in 14 countries and, one month ago, in cooperation with the Košice Region, welcomed representatives of several of them to Košice. On 23 January, the event partners — the Košice Region, Košice Region Tourism, the Faculty of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Košice and the Slovak Technical Museum – Aviation Museum in Košice — signed a memorandum of cooperation ahead of the 14th edition of the event.

We will continue to keep the public informed about further developments and confirmed participants. Our goal is for the skies above Slovakia to once again host some of the world’s finest display teams.
