Is twin-engine, light, multirole helicopter with four-blade main rotor and two-blade tail rotor as a part of their military programme. Production of this particular type ceased in 2001 and was replaced by more modern Eurocopter EC 135 helicopter. Bo 105 went into service worldwide as  a helicopter used by the Police, used for medical purposes and used for training and patrolling. In the military service the helicopter has been used  for close air support (CAS) of own ground units, for air escorting and for transport of material. The maiden flight of the first prototype took place in a  German town of Ottobrunn, on 16 February 1967.
